Good News: Thomas Should Be Okay

The Syracuse University football team suffered a minor setback yesterday. In its morning practice, senior free safety Phillip Thomas broke his jaw. According to Thomas, he will be “resting up until the opener,” but “may get a couple of practices” in before the Orange host Wake Forest on September 1st.

Last night, Thomas had surgery to repair the broken bone. The surgery was deemed a success by the star senior. Thomas claimed he’s “good as gold now.”

Although he can’t eat or drink for the time being, Thomas remains optimistic.

“If someone can bust my jaw on offense it’s going to be a great year,” Thomas joked.
